3 magnets at the stern (indicating single- or twin-engine installation) allow you to add the magnetic thrust indicators and discuss with your students which engine to use and whether the thrust should be forwards or astern to best perform the manoeuvre. The vessel has green and red sector markings to help learners visualise ‘stand on’ and ‘give way’ when teaching the collision regulations.

You could hand the model over to the students to check their understanding.
